Far Rockaway Cathedral C.O.G.I.C
Far Rockaway Cathedral exists because of God’s grace and the vision of its magnificent leader, Pastor James L. Holland. God gave him the directive to plant Far Rockaway Cathedral in a location where God’s word needed to be heard most.

Far Rockaway Cathedral began services in Pastor Holland’s sister Mother Ida Davis’s home on Eggert Pl in Far Rockaway with just 5 members. As Far Rockaway Cathedral began to grow the church later moved to the Elks Lodge on Beach Channel drive in Far Rockaway.

In obedience to the voice of God, Pastor Holland continued the assignment he was given. Since its birth Far Rockaway Cathedral continues to experience outpours of God’s presence.
Through Pastor Holland’s faithful leadership and God’s guidance, Far Rockaway Cathedral moved to its current and permanent location 1252 Brunswick Avenue. Once a dilapidated, abandoned warehouse the doors opened in June 1995 for worship. God’s cloud of glory rests upon Far Rockaway Cathedral and His presence is a constant source of strength and encouragement. It is God’s presence that has sustained Far Rockaway Cathedral through the best of times and the worst times.

Far Rockaway Cathedral remains a house dedicated to prayer, to ministry, to the praise and worship of Jesus Christ, and to the building of God’s Kingdom. Without God’s grace and mercy, we never would have made it, but we thank our lord and savior and we will serve him faithfully because we’re still here and the best is yet to come. All of the praises belong to God.
